This proposal is for an online Graduate Transient Approval form. The link to the form would not be available to students in general, but the department could forward this link to graduate students who need to take a degree requirement that UNA may not offer in a term where the student can take it.

For example, students who are pursuing a MAED in Secondary Education – Biology. One student in particular is teaching and coaching, and the summer term is the only time they can take classes. However, the UNA summer schedule for graduate Biology courses does not offer the coursework she needs. However, the University of West Alabama does offer the courses she needs during the summer, so she would like to take those courses there and transfer them back to UNA.

The attached PDF shows the end result of the form. It would be a workflow dynamic form that would require the student to initiate, and be signed off on by the student’s advisor and the Associate Dean of the College. For Education we’ve included a Teacher Certification signature.

This form has already received a positive endorsement from COEHS.
