SACSCOC Credentials Guidelines:
1. Faculty teaching undergraduate general education and/or baccalaureate courses: Doctorate or Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or Master’s degree with a concentration in the discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
2. Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate course work: Earned Doctorate/ terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline (a minimum of 18 hours above the Master’s degree in the teaching discipline).
First Year Composition (EN 111-17 & EN 111-20): An introduction to expository writing, rhetoric, and reading. The acquisition of the basic skills in standard English is stressed; Instruction of Composition (EN 443 / 543-01): Approaches to and practice in the instruction of English composition.
ENGL 7000, Tech and Professional Editing (3); ENGL 7030, Studies in Technical and Professional Communication (3); ENGL 7040, English Composition Issues and Approaches (3); ENGL 7050, Studies in Composition (3); ENGL 7090, Topics in Writing Studies (3); EN 7280, Studies in Linguistics (3).
