This specialization led to the completion of the Instructional Technology Certificate and a dissertation that analyzed the educational potential of the player-game experience with implications on how these findings can influence gamification efforts. Moreover, James has multiple presentations associated with gamification over the past seven years, including but not limited to, "Making a case for play: How leisure and play can transform your mind and your work" and "Experiencing Game Aesthetics: An Interpretive Case Study of Game Spaces Using John Dewey's Aesthetics."
