SACSCOC Credentials Guidelines:
 
1. Faculty teaching undergraduate general education and/or baccalaureate courses: Doctorate or Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or Master’s degree with a concentration in the discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
 
2. Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate course work: Earned Doctorate/ terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline (a minimum of 18 hours above the Master’s degree in the teaching discipline).
MU 567 String Ensemble - The study and performance of chamber music for orchestral string instruments.
MU 658 Pedagogy of String Instruments - focus on advanced problems and development in deepening the student's knowledge and skill in teaching orchestral string instruments.
MU 680 Secondary Applied Music - provides individual academic and artistic instruction in the development of skills, techniques, and materials of performance and study of music in an applied area other than the student's primary area of performance.
MU 681 Applied Instrument - Provide individual academic and artistic instruction in the development of skills, techniques, and materials of performance in the student's primary area of performance.
MUSA 8420 Doctoral Applied Music (4 credits); MUSI 6198 Research in Chamber Music (1 credit); MUSI 6397 Selected Topics: French Music 1870-1914 (3 credits); MUSI 8106 Doctoral Large Ensemble (1 credit); MUSI 8398 Research in Pedagogy (3 credits); MUSA 8230 Doctoral Performance (2 credits); MUSA 8420 Doctoral Applied Music (4 credits)
