Maranatha has held executive financial positions in successful companies for the last 11 years.
• She currently serves as Financial Controller for Farris Wholesale, which has been a successful wholesaler of merchandise for over 40 years. Previous positions include:
• Financial Controller, Dura Automotive Systems, an advanced manufacturing international company that provides parts to the automobile industry.
• Controller, Shoals Tubular, a successful company manufacturing parts for the HVAC industry that was acquired by Lincoln Electric Holdings, a publicly traded company.
• Controller, GreenPlanet 21 Utility Services, a company that works in partnership with telecommunication and power utilities or military or government facilities that own cable networks across North America.
• Chief Financial Officer, Digital Answers, which specializes in the R&D of specialized software and the integration of mobile devices to provide business and logistical solutions.

As a CPA, Maranatha must complete 40 hours of continuing professional education each year.

Maranatha has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Alabama since 2001. The CPA license is the most prestigious and respected certificate in the accounting and finance arenas.

Maranatha’s educational and professional accomplishments provide her with the qualifications to teach graduate tax courses at UNA. Her BBA is in Accounting (Auburn) and her Master’s is a specialty graduate accounting degree (Kennesaw State University). She has 30 hours of graduate coursework in Accounting.
Additionally, she is a CPA, the highest level of certification in accounting.
Her last five professional positions have been at the Controller or CFO level in excellent companies. These are positions that have significant responsibility at these companies. The course that she will be teaching (AC675 Advanced Tax Accounting) focuses on the taxation of business entities such as corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. Therefore, she has a deep level of expertise in this area to bring to the course and our students.
