SACSCOC Credentials Guidelines:
 
1. Faculty teaching undergraduate general education and/or baccalaureate courses: Doctorate or Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or Master’s degree with a concentration in the discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
 
2. Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate course work: Earned Doctorate/ terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline (a minimum of 18 hours above the Master’s degree in the teaching discipline).

In conjunction with the department name change from the Department of Chemistry/Industrial Hygiene to the Department of Chemistry and Occupational Health Science and the ancipated update of changing the BA/BS in Industrial Hygiene to the BA/BS in Occupational Health Science, this new subject code of Occupational Health Science (OHS) is being requested which will be used to transition the existing IH courses to the new OHS subject code and the addition of some new OHS courses.
