SACSCOC Credentials Guidelines:
 
1. Faculty teaching undergraduate general education and/or baccalaureate courses: Doctorate or Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or Master’s degree with a concentration in the discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
 
2. Faculty teaching graduate and post-baccalaureate course work: Earned Doctorate/ terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline (a minimum of 18 hours above the Master’s degree in the teaching discipline).

Additional Qualifications Complete this section to provide additional qualifications to meet the SACSCOC credentials guidelines. Identify all additional qualifications that apply and explain each item in the justification textbox. The attached document contains suggested revisions to the undergraduate Admission Requirements.

A summary of the suggested revisions are as follows:

Beginning Freshmen
1. ACT or SAT test scores are no longer required for admission.
2. General aptitude verbiage based on ACT or SAT scores is being removed.
3. The minimum GPA for admission is being raised from 2.25 to 2.50.
4. ACT scores will no longer be used to determine conditional admission.

Beginning Freshmen Admission Exceptions
1. ACT scores are no longer required for GED students.
2. Verbiage is removed regarding basic competency requirements for adult learners.

Transfer Students
Although transfer students who are on warning or probation at the last insitution attended will be placed on warning or probation at UNA, and will be subject to UNA's Scholastic Standards, their suspensions from previous institutions will not be factored into their academic standing. If a transfer student enters suspension at UNA, it will be their first academic suspension, even if they were suspended at a previous institution.
