Computer Science

The programs, courses, and functions of the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems within the Sanders College of Business and Technology are designed to serve students who wish to prepare for positions in the business, commercial, financial, and industrial fields, and in governmental agencies at the national, state, and local levels; for graduate study leading to professional positions in these areas and in teaching and research; for preparation for admission to professional schools of law; and for the development of knowledge, skills, and understanding for application in the business world and in society at large.

Departmental policies for all students majoring or minoring in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology:

  • Students must receive a "C" or higher in every CSIS course that is a prerequisite for another CSIS course. See the course description for required prerequisite courses.
  • Students may attempt a prerequisite course no more than two times, including course withdrawals. A third attempt may be allowed at the discretion of the department chair.
