Graduate Certificate in Mathematics
The Graduate Certificate in Mathematics is a post-baccalaureate program designed to give students who already hold a bachelor’s degree the opportunity to enroll in courses to earn a graduate certificate. The certificate will aid those currently enrolled in graduate programs who wish to obtain more credit hours in mathematics (e.g.for secondary/higher education credentialing) as well as those that have already completed a graduate degree. The certificate program requires 18 hours of credit. Students may transfer up to 12 hours of credit from another graduate program to the Graduate Certificate in Mathematics (with approval from department chair). Admission to the certificate program requires a formal application through the Office of Graduate Admissions. The certificate would also be available to any student to UNA admitted to UNA as a graduate student, including non-degree seeking students. The certificate may be completed fully online.
Applicants must have completed one of the following from an accredited institution: (1) a bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field; (2) a graduate degree in a related field (e.g., Master of Arts in Education in Secondary Education – Mathematics); or (3) previous graduate coursework in mathematics with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
