A micro-credential is a small program that allows you to gain relevant skills that are needed in today’s workforce. All micro-credentials offered at UNA are aligned with 21st-century workforce demands, including critical thinking, intercultural fluency, digital technology, and more. These small programs are specifically designed to equip professionals with the skills that employers want, in order to stay at the leading edge of their disciplines.

Micro-Credentials Graduate Level 

Existing degree seeking students who want to declare a Micro-Credential

Existing degree seeking students can also declare a micro-credential in addition to their degree program. Although some coursework can overlap and be double counted between a degree program and a micro-credential, a minimum of 50% of the micro-credential coursework must be original and cannot overlap with coursework completed towards a degree.

Students who have earned a previous degree who want to declare a Micro-Credential

Students who have earned a previous degree(s) can be admitted as a non-degree seeking student to declare a micro-credential. Although some coursework can overlap and be double counted between a previously earned degree and a micro-credential, a minimum of 50% of the micro-credential coursework must be original and cannot overlap with coursework completed from a previous degree.

Students who want to declare more than one Micro-Credential

Students can complete more than one micro-credential. Although some coursework can overlap and be double counted between micro-credentials, a minimum of 50% of the micro-credential coursework must be original and cannot overlap with coursework completed from another micro-credential.

Micro-Credentials will not be retroactively awarded
