Accelerated Master's Program - History

Through the Accelerated Master’s Program (AMP), students can:
  • Take up to 12 credit hours of approved graduate courses concurrently with undergraduate courses.
  • Substitute up to 12 credit hours of approved graduate courses (in place of undergraduate courses) toward completion of the undergraduate degree.
  • Students can complete it in an additional 18 months for the thesis master’s program. 

Requirements for Admission to the AMP in History:  

  • Students are eligible to apply to enter the program as freshman if they have a high school GPA of 3.5 and/or an ACT subtest score of 25 or higher.  If students are already admitted to UNA, they have to have a 3.25 GPA overall and a 3.5 GPA in their major.   
Requirements for Continued Enrollment in the AMP in History:
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
  • Students must earn a grade of B or higher in graduate-level coursework to earn graduate credit and continue in the AMP.

Following approval into the AMP in History, qualified students can take up to 12 hours from any of the history graduate offerings (HI 500 or above),
